The mighty 426 Hemi engine was arguably the most feared and legendary power plant to appear in the muscle car era. Available only until 1971, emissions standards forced it into obsolescence; it possessed an astonishing 425 hp with 490 foot-pounds of torque. Standard on the Hemi Cuda was a shaker fully functional air scoop. Aptly named as it was mounted directly to the engine - poking up through a hole in the hood and thus shaked when the engine did. The relatively high cost of the Hemi engine option, nearly a third of the base model cost, meant low production numbers. Today the rarity of these cars with Hemi engines and collector interest in them has commanded incredible price appreciation with private sales reportedly occurring at over a million dollars!
This engine features crankshaft that rotates, and die-cast crankcase with plastic parts. Display stand included!

EISCO Four-stroke Diesel Engine Model, Hand Powered
This model shows the internal structure and operating principles of a water cooled four-stroke engine. The valves are clearly evident, cams being driven by a gear train from the rear of the main crank. This is the chain driven overhead camshaft type and all functional components (camshaft, rock-arms, tappets, etc.) are clearly demonstrated. The functioning of the fuel injection system is also represented. Cross sections of the carburetor and fuel supply are shown.
Hand powered motion supplied through a crank demonstrates the moving parts of the engine. Crank shaft, piston, valves and cams cycle through all stages of the four-stroke process as the handcrank is rotated.
A simulated spark plug uses a small lamp to indicate the firing point.
Solidly constructed out of aluminum and plastic. This large model measures 12 x 9 x 5 inches and is mounted on an 8 x 8 x 2.5 inch base. A placard on the base labels all key components. Perfect for classroom demonstration or as a gift for the car enthusiast executive.
Lamp requires a 6-12 V power source (not included).
